Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been introduced in schools by CBSE for class IX earlier but now this subject can be taught from Class 2 onwards itself. On 20th December 2019, for the first time in India, the AI curriculum from Grade 2 has been launched in India by Ms.Debjani Ghosh, President, NASSCOM India during Digital Fest at Dayapuram Residential School. This curriculum named Cyber Square not only provides Computer textbook with AI aligned for CBSE, but also provides an online learning platform for the students and teachers with reference materials, activities, and projects. As the world is moving towards AI and the applications in AI are touching almost every industry, this would be a great move, to teach students from lower grade itself, the importance of data and how AI is created.
As India is progressing as digital India, introducing AI in CBSE Schools from lower grades will create a skilled workforce and AI talent pool in the country. Not only the younger generation will become ready for future jobs, but also this will make them the innovators and creators of technology.
